On February 6th, JP Saxe captivated the audience at the Wiltern in Los Angeles' Koreatown with an evening of profound vulnerability and lyrical finesse. Setting the stage with a subtle ambiance reminiscent of a cozy living room, adorned with monochromatic imagery, JP Saxe commenced the performance with a pledge to share intimate insights into his artistry and life—an assurance he meticulously honored throughout the night.
Throughout the evening, JP Saxe shared personal anecdotes and reflections on life, accompanied by his unique blend of pop, folk, and soul music. His live renditions of songs featured spontaneous jazz-inspired twists, showcasing his musical versatility. A standout moment was when JP Saxe performed a stripped-down acapella rendition, reminiscent of the intimate poetry nights he enjoys in LA. This raw performance resonated deeply, highlighting JP Saxe's authenticity as an artist.
JP Saxe is a Canadian-born and LA-based singer-songwriter. He gained notoriety through "If the World Was Ending”, a collaboration with Julia Michaels. His second album, "A Grey Area," released in late 2023, further showcased his talent as a storyteller and performer.
